Zotero is a free, open-source, personal research assistance tool that helps you collect, manage, share, and cite your research. With Zotero, you can:
- Collect research materials. Zotero senses the content in your web browser and allows you to save, with just one click, images, articles, web pages, PDFs, audio and video files, and other items, along with all of the metadata for that item (that's the important information you need for citing your sources)
- Organize your research materials. With Zotero, you can group your sources in multiple folders, assign tags and keywords to items to help you find them again quickly, and even synch your data across multiple devices
- Cite your sources. Use Zotero to insert footnotes, in-text citations, or bibliographies into your paper. Zotero knows all of the citation styles and works with Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, and Google Docs
