The Library's Children & YA Literature collection is organized by readership level. Readership levels were assigned utilizing a variety of professional sources: School Library Journal, Novelist Plus, and Literary Book Award lists. Many books straddle a line between two categories. Evaluate each book and craft your own evidence-based argument when determining which books are best suited to your audience.
Picture Books - (Birth - 4)
Early Readers - (5 - 7)
Chapter Books - (8 - 12)
Teen - (13 - 17) thematically captures the middle and early high school experience
Young Adult - (18 - 25) thematically captures late high school & college experience
