Thesis, Dissertation, and Project Submission Process: FAQ

Common Questions

Who do I contact if I have a question?

  • If you have a question about the uploading of your thesis or dissertation, contact Daniel Jolley at djolley@gardner-webb.edu.  If you have a question about physical copies of your thesis or dissertation, contact Ary Bottoms at ibottoms@gardner-webb.edu.

How many physical copies of my dissertation or thesis will I receive?

  • Your student fees cover the costs of one bound copy.  Additional copies can be purchased at a cost of $40 per copy.  If you would like to purchase additional bound copies, you may request these by contacting the Business Office at 704-406-4287.

How quickly will I receive the bound copy or copies of my thesis or dissertation?

  • The library will place the orders for any bound copies following your official graduation date.  Any copies will be shipped directly, within 6 to 8 weeks, to the shipping address you provided in your upload details..

How quickly will my thesis/dissertation be posted online?

  • Theses and dissertations are published in Digital Commons during the first few weeks following your official graduation from the program.  You will be notified by email upon online publication, and your thesis or dissertation will be immediately available in Digital Commons at that time.  Education dissertations, business dissertations, divinity dissertations, and master's of religion theses will also be uploaded to ProQuest at the same time -- ProQuest publication typically occurs within 6 to 8 weeks.

I made a mistake during the submission process.  How can I get that mistake corrected now?

  • The confirmation email you received after uploading your information and document should contain a link that allows you to return to your submission details screen and make any needed changes.  You may also contact Daniel Jolley directly in order to request any needed edits of information.

Who will be able to view my thesis or dissertation?

  • Digital Commons is an open access digital repository, and all Gardner-Webb theses and dissertations are published there.  This means that all theses and dissertations in Digital Commons are publicly available to anyone online and are discoverable through major search engines.  You may want to include the link to your dissertation or thesis in your curriculum vita, resume, LinkedIn page, etc.  If your thesis or dissertation is also published in ProQuest, that ProQuest publication will only be available to institutions with access to the ProQuest thesis and dissertation database --
