WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan allows you to request an item through that Gardner-Webb does not own from another library.

What if I forget my password?

You will always use your WebbConnect username/password to access ILL. If you have forgotten your WebbConnect username/password, you can reset it using the password recovery portal on the WebbConnect landing page.

What Web browser should I use?

The ILL system works best in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers.

Are there overdue charges for ILL books?

Yes. Overdue fees for ILL books are $1.00 per day. It is very important for our library to return materials to the lending library in a timely manner.

What about Distance Students?

All Interlibrary Loan services are available to our Distance Students. If you need books that are in our collection here on campus, they can be requested through interlibrary loan. Articles in bound periodicals will be scanned and sent as .pdfs.  All ILL books can be mailed to the student. Shipping costs to students are paid by the library; return shipping is the responsibility of the student.

Will I receive notification that my ILL is available?

Yes.  If you are ordering an article, you will receive it in .pdf format within a couple of days.  If it is a book or other physical item, it will be mailed from the lending library.  You will receive notification when you order an item, when it arrives, and before it is due back to the library (physical items only).
