Friends of the Library are alumni, community members, and others in the Gardner-Webb University family who support the mission of the John R. Dover Memorial Library. Funding and support from the Friends helps us sponsor author events, fund technology and building improvements, and foster life-long learning for our students and local community. Members of the Friends of the Library can contribute through annual dues, special gifts and endowments, and participation in events.
Dover Library accepts donations of materials such as books, DVDs, and other library-related items that are in good condition.
Materials that are relevant to the library’s mission to support the teaching and research programs of the University will be added at the library’s discretion. Books donated in honor or memory of someone are gladly accepted, but inclusion in the collection of a certain item cannot be guaranteed.
Donations of gifts in kind are accepted with the understanding that the materials become the property of Dover Library, and that lists of titles and valuation are the responsibility of the donor. Dover Library may use, keep or handle items at its discretion.
Donation forms are available at the Circulation Desk, or they can be downloaded online as a printable PDF. Donations can be delivered to the library Circulation Desk.
Donors will receive a thank you note indicating the number of boxes or volumes received as a receipt for their donation to use for tax purposes.
